DIVING IN BELONGAS

There is a small rock island with a lighthouse tower on, it called THE MAGNET. The waves can be a bit rough on this part, so you need to be very skillful diver if you want to get in there.
This offshore pinnacle plunges about 80 metres and is famed for its robust currents and unexpected downdrafts. These elements help attract impressive marine life such as SCHOOLING HAMMERHEADS, BARRACUDAS, TUNAS, and MOBULA RAYS, offering a pulse-racing experience for adventurous divers.
Located to the east of the Magnet, the Cathedral is another illustrious dive site in Belongas Bay Diving. Divers can explore a massive cave at 40 metres depth, enveloped by schooling pelagics in a starkly beautiful underwater setting. The site's exposure to natural elements further enhances its unique allure.
The best time to plan your dive is over the dry season, beginning in MARCH until NOVEMBER , and water temperature ranges from 26 to 30 C (79 to 86 F).

The hammerhead sharks are a group of sharks that form the family Sphyrnidae, named for the unusual and distinctive form of their heads, which are flattened and laterally extended into a cephalofoil (a T-shape or "hammer").
Hammerheads are found worldwide, preferring life in warmer waters along coastlines and continental shelves. Unlike most sharks, some hammerhead species will congregate and swim in large schools during the day, becoming solitary hunters at night.
The ideal diving season at Belongas Bay begins in AUGUST, with hammerhead sightings most frequent between AUGUST and NOVEMBER. Planning your visit during this peak period is essential, as the conditions can be quite challenging for novice divers.
